Most of our habits and patterns of behaviour have been programmed into us by the age of six – before we are even aware that we are being programmed. Many of these habits come from our parents, so they are not even ours by choice! Some are desirable but some are not and because habits are subconscious, we are not even aware of them.
The subconscious mind stores and retrieve data, ensuring that you respond exactly the way you are programmed. This part of the mind is subjective and does not think or reason independently; it merely obeys the commands it receives from your conscious mind.
Think of the conscious mind as the gardener, planting seeds. The subconscious mind can be thought of as the garden, or fertile soil, in which the seeds germinate and grow. Your conscious mind commands and your subconscious mind obeys.
Your subconscious mind is an unwavering servant, working tirelessly to make your behaviour fit a pattern consistent with your thoughts and dreams. The subconscious mind grows either flowers or weeds in the garden of your life, according to whatever you choose to plant by the mental patterns you create. By focusing your thoughts on uplifting ideas, your subconscious will begin to implement a positive pattern in your way of thinking and your outlook on life.
To break an existing habit, we have to reprogramme the subconscious mind. We can do this by creating new, positive habits and you will learn how to do this. This workshop will also cover a specific meditation, known to assist in cleansing the subconscious mind and break existing habits.
